Rackard, Liz
Rafferty, Eddie ARUA
When Eddie Rafferty left school he became a leather worker with the Gilford (Co.Down) firm of Shane Wright, who made saddles, handbags and belts. At the same time he attended art classes at night at Lurgan Technical College. Here me met the artist Neil Shawcross who was so impressed by his work that he encouraged him to paint more and more. Eventually this led him onto a place at Belfast College of Art where he received an Honours degree in printmaking and drawing…..more to follow

Rafter, Mike
I am a self-taught painter living in Castletown, County Laois. My educational and work background is in electronics and computing though I have always been fascinated by art. For as long as I can remember, drawing and painting have been part of my life. Though I am primarily self-taught I am always trying to improve my craft by participating in workshops given by leading artists.
I work with oils, acrylics & watercolours. My favourite medium is oil paint which, in my opinion, offers a versatility that cannot be matched by any other medium.
Please get in touch if you are interested in commissioning a painting.

Ridgeway, Ken
Painting for me has been a life long hobby and love. I had a busy work life and found that painting was a great way to relax. Ten years ago I decided to take the the next step and did a 2 year painting course with artist John Dinan in his studio in Mayo. This involved all techniques and styles ending with an exhibition in Cong art gallery. I have displayed on Merrion Sq. and St.Stephen’s Green, where I was quite successful, as well as local exhibitions.
I moved to Greystones from Killester in Dublin six years ago. I look for any subject that suggests an interesting painting to me, although that might not work out all the time!
Recently the seashore in Greystones has become an inspiration for me. It changes every day with the tides and weather. I mostly work in acrylics, but I use oils and watercolour if the subject suggests a different painting medium.

Ryan, Shelia
I am an Irish American, of an Irish born mother originally from Dublin. I moved to Dublin in my late teens and have been living here for the past 31 years.
I have been making art with different mediums since my early teens. When my children were old enough, I finally got to go to DIT Art College when I turned 40 and then got a B.A. degree in Fine Art. Many of my paintings are of Megalithic tombs/monuments or Irish landscapes. As a hobby, I have also made Applique art, which is using fabrics of different shapes and sewing them together on a larger piece.
