Pilkington, Joe (1940-1999)

Best known for his stage performances and  his TV role as Eamon Maher, the traveller, in RTE’s rural drama series “The Riordans”. Joe Pilkington was originally from Barna, Co.Galway and on retirement moved back to Oughterard and devoted much of his time to painting which he sold privately.

Piper, Raymond RUA (1923-2007)

A renowned portrait painter but best remembered for his botanical paintings and book illustrations. Born in London, he moved to Northern Ireland with his family when he was six.

Porter, Eva

Eva Porter exhibited regularly with the Belfast Art Society (later the RUA) from an address on the King’s Road, Knock, in Belfast.

She was active from 1923 – 53 and worked mainly in watercolour, specialising in landscapes and garden scenes.

Bernie Prendergast was born in Claremorris, Co Mayo and studied Fine Art at Galway Techical College and afterwards at Limerick College of Art.

The artist’s speciality is in Charcoal Portraits and occasionally in pencil, pen and wash.
